Mid-Century Modern Windows

There seems to be a revival with the mid century stylized homes. Mid-century modern (MCM) is the design movement in interior, product, graphic design, architecture, and urban development from roughly 1945 to 1975.
At its most basic level, mid-century modern designs are known for juxtaposing sleek lines with organic shapes, using new materials and methods to reimagine traditional pieces. The looks were futuristic, but they weren’t a total departure from the past.

Natural light became even more important in the design of homes as well. Architects stopped using the typical 3-foot by 5-foot window frame for vast glass walls and sliding doors, effectively bringing the outdoors in. While definitely more prevalent in California due to the state’s temperate climate, examples of this style can be found across the country, from the suburbs of Chicago to Arizona.
Although picture windows were also utilized, corner windows were more apparent and remain to be the window type most identifiable with the Mid-century modern movement.
